We all strive to be our beautiful best at all times and go through great lengths to do so. Having said this one of the most important times is when one is getting married. This is something that happens once in a lifetime and but naturally all brides to be, want to look their very best on this special day. This was exactly how I felt. I had been dreaming about this day and how special I wanted it to be. There were many opinions from friends and family as to where I should go for my bridal makeover. I had also heard of situations when many brides were unhappy with their bridal packages thus ruining their special moment. So much so I had decided that in the worst-case scenario I would do my makeup and hair myself. This was stressing me out and I was unable to look forward to my wedding that was fast approaching. This was when I heard of Earthen Wellness, a Spa in Bangalore that is known for its heady mix of holistic and rejuvenating services consisting of ayurvedic, herbal, natural treatments and therapies that are one hundred percent natural I then decided to give this place a try. The bridal package offered consisted of a manicure, pedicure, Shirolepa, Abhyangam, Udvartana and a facial spanning over a six-week period. We started of with the manicure and pedicure that encompassed cleaning, immersion in exotic tonics to facilitate circulation, a gentle scrub that removes layers of dead skin, a relaxing oleation massage, herbal steaming, compressing and hydrating with the application of herbal masks. This seven-step approach transformed my hands and feet restoring the suppleness and smoothness on the much-worked parts using formulations that were specially tailor made keeping me in mind. I then had the Shirolepa a 45-minute traditional treatment and begins with an application of wet paste that is medicated over the head, then being covered with a plantain leaf and let for a period of 45 minutes. The benefits of this treatment are that it cleanses the scalp removing dirt and dandruff, rejuvenates and strengthens dull hair transforming it into soft, shiny and lustre filled hair It also battles anxiety, fatigue, stress, improves eyesight as well as heals ailments in the head and neck region. This treatment helps in improving sleep and ensures sound sleep and this is exactly what I experienced. A relaxing and calming head bath then completes this phenomenal treatment. The Abhyangam massage therapy is ayurvedic and rich in minerals. this thoroughly amazed, soothed, calmed and revitalized my frayed nerves This excellent stress buster and mood elevator was phenomenal. The Udvartana followed. This was an invigorating process in which herbal powders or its paste is rubbed in opposite direction of hair in a rhythmic fashion which removes clogged pores and dead skin cells, stimulates the lymphatic system, detoxifies the body and aids in circulation. It is also helpful in disintegrating body fat & cellulite and reduces weight, alleviates the vitiation of kapha dosha and eliminates the body odour. Finally last but not the least came the pure haven.This facial began with Mukhaprakshalana or cleansing followed by Snehanakarma or Oleation massage, Swedanakarma which is an herbal steam or compress, Gharshana, a gentle scrub, Pramarjana, Pichu, and Tarpana which are toning, moisturizing and hyderating respectively. The facial was formulated to suit my unique skin type making it all the more effective. At the end of it all I was transformed into a glowing, flawless, stress free and a very special bride to be who was all set to radiate on my day which is exactly what I did and who wouldn’t with all the compliments that I received, all thanks to Earthen Wellness.
